Not only do I have Italian blood but I am half Irish as well. Yes a dangerous combination LOL. So I have introduced my husband to meals he has never seen or heard of before. Potatoes are a big part of the Irish life. They can be cooked many different ways and are always so tasty!
Growing up my grandmother made this delicious dish called Shepard's Pie. Now, I am one that does not like my food to be "mixed" or touch. I am not a huge casserole fan at all as most recipes call to mix this and that and bake, yea no thanks. Tuna casserole, SO not anything I will ever eat again. Growing up it was eat it or go to bed hungry. Scarred for life I say, SCARRED! LOL.
This is a recipe that I would request for my birthday EVERY year. My husband loves this dish as well as my husband and it does not that that much time to throw together.
Shepards Pie
Mashed Potatoes
1 can of corn
1 package of ground beef
Velveeta cheese
Start by peeling, cooking, and mashing your potatoes. Then cook up the brown up the ground beef and warm up the corn. Spray a glass casserole dish and put the meat in first, then the corn, then the slices of Velveeta cheese, and lastly the mashed potatoes. Then sprinkle the top with paprika and bake on 350 for about 35-40 min and then throw on the broiler for about 5 min to crust the top. Then serve and enjoy!!!
