Do your kids come home and say "Moooooommmm I'm hungry"? Yes I thought that sounded familiar. I have a 2 and a 4 year old, and that is a common phrase in my house. Hmmm, what is there to snack on that they do not get sick of? Be the cool mom and surprise them! How about homemade mozzarella sticks? Even better, what about mini pizza's? Homemade ones is what will make you cool! Let's start with the mozzarella sticks. All you need are string cheese sticks, eggs, and breadcrumbs. Take out the mozzerella sticks and cut them in half, roll in the egg, then roll in the breadcrumbs. Put down foil on a pan, spray with cooking spray, then put the mozzarella sticks on. Bake on 350 for 10-15 minutes until they are golden brown. While they are cooking heat up some sauce for dipping. You can always fry them to, but I try to keep it healthy in our house.
Next mini pizzas....you can use regular bagels or mini bagels. Put the bagel face down and then spoon sauce around the inside of both sides, add some mozzarella cheese, and some pepperoni or whatever other toppings you may enjoy or have in the house. Place on a tray and pop them into the oven at 350 for about 15-20 min and tada, you are ready to feed these hungry monsters. To make them extra special, let the kids help you prep these.
