I am back. Life has been crazy and busy this summer. But I am back to fulfill your recipe dreams.
The other night there was not alot in the house, so I did the hmmmmm what can i make with the kitchen fridge ingredients? I always have the ingredients to make dough and there was ground beef. So let's think how I can combine the two. I know, I will make a Stromboli. What is a Stromboli....a little Trimboli (my mothers maiden name). Kidding aside, a Stromboli is like a calzone meets a stuffed bread.
Fist start your sauce, whether it be homemade or a jar. We make a homemade sauce everytime and my kids grab a slice of bread to enjoy the heavenlieness!

Make a nice pizza dough next and let it rise. When ready, flour your surface and roll out your dough long and wide. The take a floured knife and cut a few slits on both sides. Start cooking your meat and whatever else you want to put in the filling. My Stromboli was sauce, ground beef, mozzarella cheese, homemade capicola, prosciutto, and fresh basil. Then take each piece and lay it across like a braid. Then take an eggwash and brush the top of it and sprinkle garlic powder and Italian spices. Throw it into the oven on 350 and bake until the Stromboli is golden brown. Cut it and serve w a side of sauce!
