Fall is pumpkin and apple season. The cold frost has hit Rochester and cooking and baking is one way to warm up the house. The smells coming from the oven permeate the whole house and make everyone that walks in salivate! I had a few apples in the refrigerator and wanted something warm and sweet to eat. I watch The Chew everyday and I saw Carla Hall make something like this.
Basically you want to core the middle of the apple, then stuff the middle with a mixture of 1/2 stick of butter (cold), cinnamon, a 1/3 of brown sugar, 1/3 of white sugar, and 2 tblsp of flour. Mix all that up and stuff the middles. Sprinkle with cinnamon and place in a pan with some water in the bottom and bake for about an hour. Take out and top with ice cream and you have one easy but yet amazing dessert!
